Jennifer Lopez "thrilled" to be part of World Cup song

Jennifer Lopez has revealed her delight at being involved in Pitbull's upcoming World Cup song.

The 'Timber' man had been suggesting on Twitter that he, Lopez and singer Claudia Leitte are teaming up for a song to mark this year's FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

It has now been confirmed that the trio will feature on a track called 'We Are One', which will feature on a special World Cup album.

They will perform the song at the event's opening ceremony at the Arena de Sao Paulo on June 12.

Speaking in a statement, Jennifer Lopez commented: "I grew up in a house that loved futbol, so I am thrilled to be performing at the World Cup Opening Ceremonies with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte."

FIFA General Secretary Jérôme Valcke added: "In my many visits to this country I’ve seen and heard a lot about the great Brazilian music tradition and it gives me great pleasure to see a Brazilian artist at the heart of this song. I’m sure, like me, millions of football and music fans all over the world will be eagerly awaiting the song’s release.”
