Jennifer Lopez looks set to become the latest music star to record a Christmas album.

The singer told Rap-Up that she and producer David Foster initially spoke about doing a festive record a number of months ago.

The idea seems to have grown arms and legs since then, with Lopez hoping to release a full collection of Christmas ditties either this year or in 2015.

She said: "David Foster and I sat down and talked about this over six, seven, eight months ago and we sat down and we just started singing. And then he came back to me and was like, 'Hey, look what I did.' He's such an amazing producer. It's crazy.  Then he played me from just little vocals that I was doing there with him with the piano, almost fully-produced Christmas songs."

Lopez, who recently issued the video for her new single 'I Luh Ya Papi', added: 

"I was like, 'Oh, my God.' He's like, 'We have to finish this album'. I was like, 'We have to do this album.' And so we've been talking about it. Actually I just saw him yesterday, so I'm hoping to do it. I don't know if it'll be for this year or next year, but I would love to."

Recent acts to release Christmas albums include Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis.
