Following on from Hillary Clinton’s announcement of her 2016 presidential bid, Jennifer Lopez has voiced her support for a female American leader.

J.Lo spoke about her interest in news of Hillary Clinton’s running for president whilst on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards.

When asked what she thought about the history-making political news, Lopez said:

“I just heard about it. I'm very excited.”

Whilst the ‘Booty’ singer did not explicitly state her support for Clinton, Jennifer did express enthusiasm for America having it's first ever female president. 

She said: “I think it's time for a woman [president].”

Whilst at the MTV Movie Awards Jennifer Lopez also collected a golden popcorn statue for Best Scared-As-S*** Performance in the film ‘The Boy Next Door’.
