Jessica Simpson on weight challenges: 'My body is a work in progress, but I'm getting there'

Singer and TV host Jessica Simpson has filmed a new campaign for Weight Watchers in which she opens up about the importance of loving and respecting your body at every size.

Speaking about her figure, which is noticeably slimmer at the moment, the beauty explained that having children taught her to appreciate her body for what it is:

"This body made two amazing little human beings. I love this body and what it's capable of - no matter what size. But this version. It feels really good. My body, like my life, is a work in progress, but I'm getting there, with Weight Watchers."

She also appeared on 'Good Morning America' earlier today (February 19) and told reporters that after giving birth to her daughter, Maxwell, in 2012 her weight shot up and it was a shock to her: “I was so insecure – I couldn’t even believe what I weighed. I don’t think that I ever expected myself to see the numbers that I have seen on the scale."

"You are creating a life, and honestly it’s not easy. It is a really hard thing to go through. And you deserve to eat your ice cream, you deserve to have your pancakes. Do whatever you want to do and then afterwards just know that you have to work really hard."

Simpson added: “I had to learn that with my first and second pregnancy. My first pregnancy I ate a lot more, but my second pregnancy I ate enough, like I ate what I wanted to eat but I stayed active and I think because I had gained so much weight with my first that I had to stay active throughout my second because I didn’t know what to do with myself if I didn’t.”
