Jessie J on The Voice: '"Where is the constructive vocal criticism?"

Jessie J has suggested that the coaches on The Voice UK are too reluctant to criticise its contestants.

The singer was a popular fixture on the show's first two series, but she quit ahead of the current third season.

However, it seems the 'It's My Party' star isn't so happy with how the coaches - Kylie Minogue, Ricky Wilson, Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am - are guiding the wannabe singers.

She wrote on Twitter on Sunday (March 2) whilst watching the show: "Where is the constructive vocal criticism?! It was TOO MUCH! Vocally messy and too many runs and licks! Singers don't and won't improve if you continually say "amazing" when it's not...Can't get better in a "Yes bubble"."

Jessie J later followed the post up with a frank message about herself and honesty, saying:

"I am always real with myself. Even if it may bruise my pride a little. I admit when I am not giving my best at anything. From work, image, family, love, friendships, performance, fitness, diet, vocals. I can always be a better person and push myself more. All round. Always! When I stop being real with myself is when I step into the danger zone of becoming big headed or bitter when other people are real with me. Or feeling hurt and mistaking constructive criticism with someone being mean. There IS A DIFFERENCE. So I am always honest with me. From the core outwards.

"I sometimes agree with people when their words may not always positive towards me. But I will never know whether something is right or wrong until I do it! listen BUT only when those words are constructive and come from a caring and loving place. I listen and try to grow and learn from what people say. Selflessly I try to listen, to my fans,my team, my friends and my loved ones. But I have to listen to me too. My Mum and Dad raised me too well to be anything but real. I know what I have to do! I may not always speak on it but I am always trying to achieve it."
