Jessie J: "I want to be defined by my voice"

Jessie J has admitted that she always wants to "look nice" - but she wants to be known more for her music.

The 'Domino' singer was speaking ahead of the launch of new UK TV talent show The Voice, in which Jessie J will act as a coach alongside the likes of will.i.am and the Script's Danny O'Donoghue.

The show promises to focus more on talent than image - and Jessie J told the BBC that whilst she is keen to make herself look good, she wants to be known for her music. She said:

"I always want to look nice because I'm a female who wants to look nice, but there are days when I don't want to be judged on that. I want to be defined by my voice and my music. I think that's what the show is about and that's what it should be about. But I think image is important. But what the show's saying is that the voice is the first thing and then everything else stems from that."

Jessie J had recently admitted that she might start to town done her image soon, questioning the need to wear makeup in the morning and subsequently "look like a drag queen".
