Jessie J believes sexualised music videos will come to an end

Jessie J reckons that the ever-changing nature of the music industry will see an end to sexualised music videos and imagery.

The notion of music stars exploiting their bodies for fame has grown arms and legs this year, with the likes of Miley Cyrus and Rihanna constantly in the limelight for their skin exposure.

Speaking to the PA, Jessie J - who released her latest album 'Alive' in September - said that she thinks sexualisation will move on as the industry evolves. She said:

"I think that pop culture moves and changes. It has its moments of greatness and its moments of weirdness... shock value and beauty. I always know that as a female artist you can't do anything until you test it. Until you test it, you don't know if it's going to work or not. I've been there and done it and thought maybe I don't want to do that again.

"The music industry's constantly evolving and changing. There are many artists coming through who are about vocals. That's what I'm trying to stand for. It can't go that way, not for the younger generation coming up. There needs to be a levelling, a responsibility from everyone."

Katy Perry meanwhile is one other female pop star who is reluctant to give in to showing off skin to publicise herself.

She recently said: "Maybe when I'm 35 I will [take all my clothes off]. I don't need to do it now, because I've got great songs. If I get super-desperate, maybe I will then."

Rizzle Kicks meanwhile recently went on record to state that Miley Cyrus apparently using sex to sell music is nothing new.
