JLS pick up BRIT's hat-trick

JLS are among five acts to have picked up a hat-trick of nominations for this year's BRIT Awards. Florence and the Machine, Lily Allen and Pixie Lott will also compete for three prizes at the annual awards ceremony, which will take place at London's Earls Court on February 16.

Lady GaGa received nominations in all three categories for which she is eligible - 'International Female', 'International Album' and 'International Breakthrough Act' - while JLS have been recognised in the 'British Group', 'British Breakthrough Act' and 'British Single' categories. The boyband's rivals for the 'British Single' prize include fellow X Factor stars Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry, as well as McElderry's mentor on the show Cheryl Cole.
