JLS singer JB Gill has put himself forward for a mentoring role on the X Factor.

The 'Hottest Girl In The World' star found fame through the TV talent show when JLS came runners-up on the UK series in 2008.

He told the PA that he would love to return to the show one day in a mentoring role, guiding contestants on the art of performing. Gill said:

"I don't know if any of the reality shows, like The X Factor, are currently looking for new mentors, but it would be lovely to be involved in that side of the industry as well.

"Often it's difficult for people breaking through to know the right things, know the wrong things, to know what to do."

The singer also revealed that he declined to take part in the next Strictly Come Dancing series after winning the 2012 Christmas special. Gill added:

"I can't do the next series of Strictly because I'm on tour with the boys, but if I was free, it's something I would have loved to have done. They did ask me to do it this year, but I couldn't. But if they ask me again next year, then yeah, absolutely, I'd consider it."
