Jonas Brothers on new music: 'Our lyrics are very real but our fans will get it and support us'

Pop-rock trio the Jonas Brothers have opened up about the brand new music they've been working on and explained that they've taken back creative control.

Speaking to MTV News about their new direction as a group, they explained that everything will be self-made from the lyrics to the production and they can't wait to share what they've been putting together in the studio:

"We've taken on a completely different approach to songwriting and production, we're doing it all ourselves. Our new single - we're writing and performing it. It really is about what's happening with the three of us in the studio."

"As artists we're really taking control of our destiny and sort of deciding what our next moves are. It's something we're really proud of but also it's one of those things we have to tread carefully, but we have some great fans to support us."

The Jonas Brothers added that lyrically, the songs will be more mature than what their fans will be used to and they hope the tracks will be well-received:

"We're talking about some really 'real' subjects and things that are meaningful to us both in the present time and the past. It's now out there for people to hear. That's the great part of being an artist - you can create and then share later."
