Singer Nick Jonas recently shocked the world by sharing a self-taken photograph of himself without his shirt on as it showed him with an incredible physique.

The photo was uploaded to Instagram and has since attracted over 213,000 likes, but he confessed to Ryan Seacrest that finding the courage to post it was a different matter entirely:

"It took one day to put it up. I debated with my brothers and people in our band like, 'Should I do this?' They were like, 'You have to, you have to,' so I did it."

When asked if he expected such a viral reaction, Jonas added that the response was overwhelming although he appreciated it because getting his body into its current condition has been difficult:

"No, I didn't really to be honest. Like I said in the picture, I never do that, and there are a lot of people running around without their shirts on these days so I didn't want to just add to the noise, but I felt like as a diabetic its twice as hard to stay in shape...so I just wanted to be an inspiration to those people...it's been a pretty hilarious reaction."
