Justin Bieber becomes second person to reach 50 million Twitter followers

Justin Bieber has become only the second person ever to hit 50 million Twitter followers.

The 20-year-old singer reached the milestone recently and he took to the social networking website to say:

"#50millionstrong. Love to my beliebers."

The 'Believe' man follows in the footsteps of Katy Perry, who currently sits at a massive 51 million followers.

Bieber meanwhile celebrated his 20th birthday on Saturday (March 1) and he said on Twitter to his fans:

"Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes. Means a lot. Blessed and hoping we can continue to change the world together. Thanks."

The singer, however, will face court on two separate cases this month. He was charged in Miami earlier this year with substance and driving charges, whilst he is also alleged to have assaulted a limo driver in Toronto in late December.
