Justin Bieber chats to education activist Malala Yousafzai: 'She has an incredible story'

Justin Bieber has revealed that he has been in conversation with education activist Malala Yousafzai.

The 17-year-old rose to worldwide prominence in 2012 after being shot in the head by a masked gunman in her home country Pakistan.

She was targeted for previously speaking out against the rights of girls in her country to have an education. The Taliban accepted responsibility for the failed assassination attempt.

Speaking on Instagram, Justin Bieber said that he has had a chat with Yousafzai via FaceTime and plans to meet her in person in the future.

He said: "Just got to FaceTime with Malala Yousafzai. She has such an incredible story. I can't wait to meet her in person and talk about how I can support her and the @malalafund. #love."

The Canadian added a photo of the pair speaking on the video chat.
