Justin Bieber says his 'arrogant' behaviour was way of masking 'true feelings'

Justin Bieber has explained his recent behaviour in a frank video.

The singer posted a clip of himself on his Facebook page after filming a new interview for The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

He admitted that was nervous appearing on the programme after spending much of the last year out of the spotlight following a series of misdemeanours.

Bieber confessed that his bad behaviour amounted to an act as he tried to mask his inner feelings.

The Canadian said on Wednesday night (January 28): "Today, I was on Ellen and it was a lot of fun. She’s amazing, it was her birthday, but I was really nervous. I think I was nervous because I was afraid of what people are thinking about me right now.

"It’s been a minute since I’ve been in a public appearance, and I didn’t want to come off arrogant or conceited or basically how I’ve been acting the past year and a half."

He added: "I’m not who I was pretending to be. Why I say I was 'pretending' is often we pretend to be something we’re not as a cover-up of what we are truly feeling inside.

"And there were a lot of feelings going on in there. Just being young and growing up in this business is hard. Just growing up in general is hard.”
