Justin Bieber: 'I want to own up to some of the things I've done'

Justin Bieber says he is hoping to "own up" to his past misdemeanours.

The singer has endured a turbulent last couple of years, with the 20-year-old criticised for his behaviour.

He was arrested in January last year for DUI and Bieber then spent much of 2014 out of the spotlight.

The Canadian made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show this week and he said that he is hoping to move on from his past.

Speaking about why he has decided to be the subject of an upcoming Comedy Central Roast, Bieber said:

"I think it's just cool to be able to laugh at yourself.

"I've done some things that might not have been the greatest. But I just want to laugh about it and just own up to some of the things."

De Generes added in the interview that she knows Bieber has been looking after himself recently.

Bieber added online in a personal video that his actions of the past were the result of trying to mask inner feelings.
