Justin Bieber tops one week sales total for a single this year in Canada

Singer Justin Bieber has achieved an amazing feat in his home country of Canada.

The heartthrob's latest single 'What Do You Mean' has racked up the most sales in one week for 2015 in the country and Universal Music Canada shared the exciting news via Twitter and posted the following tweet:

"#WhatDoYouMean had the biggest one week sales total of any single this year in Canada. Congrats @justinbieber! #MCM."

Bieber, meanwhile, recently told Z100 that getting pigeon-holed as a pop singer is hard because he wants to be taken seriously as an artist: "They'll try to walk all over you. But if I wouldn't have taken a stand, I would've just ended up being like all the other pop stars."

"It's rare to find an artist in a pop star. Usually it's just a pop star. Michael Jackson was an artist...It's not just being a performer and good at what you do. There's a lot of people that can sing and dance, but it takes a lot to create and take it to the next level."
