Justin Bieber happy to lose out on Christmas No.1 single in the UK

Canadian sensation Justin Bieber was leading the race to have the UK's No.1 single for Christmas 2015 with his offering 'Love Yourself' but he was beaten by the NHS Choir (pictured below) with 'A Bridge Over You' at the last minute.

Luckily for Bieber, this came as good news after he urged fans to "do the right thing" and buy copies of his competitor's single as it was for charity.

On December 23 he tweeted: "I'm hearing this UK Christmas race is close...but the @Choir_NHS single is for charity. So... so for 1 week it's ok not to be #1. Let's do the right thing & help them win. It's Christmas. @Choir_NHS good luck. This is what it's all about. Merry Christmas."

After learning that the NHS Choir had scooped the Christmas No.1 single, he returned to his social media page and shared the following message: "Just heard the news. Amazing. That is what Christmas is all about. @Choir_NHS congrats!! Very cool."

Last night, the NHS Choir tweeted: "Thank you SO very much to all our followers and supporters. We still can't quite believe this has happened! Happy Christmas."
