Justin Bieber and The 1975 to perform for BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge event

Canadian sensation Justin Bieber will perform a live set from the comfort of his own home in September. 

He will treat BBC Radio 1 listeners to a set that will air directly from his Los Angeles residence for a special Radio 1 Live Lounge event, which is due to take place between September 1 and September 30. 

A total of 25 artists will be involved in the month-long event. Other confirmed names include Usher, Charlie Puth, Bastille, and singer-songwriter Tom Odell. 'Somebody Else' hitmakers The 1975 will close the event with an hour-long performance alongside the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

The 1975 issued a statement on the exciting news and said: “We are incredibly honoured to be working with the BBC Philharmonic on such a special and unique live performance. Huge thanks to Radio 1 for the opportunity to express our music in such an exciting way."

Radio presenter Clara Amfo is set to host each scheduled event and she explained that it will be a great month of live music: “To be invited into Bieber’s own L.A. home to hear him perform and to have The 1975 close Live Lounge month at Blackpool Tower Ballroom will make for some special moments, bring on September!"
