Justin Bieber wants to perform at MTV VMAs

Justin Bieber has put himself forward to play at this year's MTV VMA ceremony.

A host of top names are coming together on September 6 in Los Angeles to celebrate the best in music video.

Bieber's video for his track 'Boyfriend' is nominated twice at the awards - for Best Male Video and Best Pop Video - but he isn't scheduled to perform, with the likes of One Direction and Rihanna lined up instead.

The Canadian however took to Twitter yesterday (August 28) to proclaim that he would be ready to perform at the ceremony if he was asked. Bieber said:

"I would perform. always ready. #vmas ##votebieber."

Rihanna and Drake lead the VMA nominations with a total of five nods each, whilst pop princess Katy Perry notched up four nominations.
