Justin Bieber pays tribute to young cancer victim Avalanna Routh

Justin Bieber took to Twitter last night (September 26) to pay his respects to fan Avalanna Routh, who sadly lost her battle with cancer.

The Canadian superstar had previously visited 6-year-old Routh, who had a rare type of cancer called AT/RT, earlier this year and even made a TV appearance with her on the Today Show.

She was dubbed 'Mrs Bieber' and the 'Boyfriend' star had earlier tweeted that meeting her was "one of the best things I have ever done".

Paying tribute to Rough on Twitter last night, Bieber asked fans to pray for her family. He said:

"Just got the worst news ever. One of the greatest spirits I have ever known is gone. Please pray for her family and for her. RIP Avalanna. I love you."

He then posted a photo of the pair looking into each other's eyes along with the simple caption: "My angel".
