Justin Bieber's 'Baby' goes diamond in the US

Justin Bieber's hit single 'Baby' has gone diamond.

The news was revealed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), who deal with sales certifications.

They say the song is America's top digital single ever, when taking into account sales and streams.

Bieber's multimedia man Alfredo Flores tweeted that the award means 'Baby' has gone 12x platinum - a feat apparently never achieved in the States.

The singer was presented with a special diamond award on stage on Wednesday (July 31), which was proudly shown off on Twitter by Flores and Bieber's manager Scooter Braun.

'Baby' was released in 2010 and features on the singer's album 'My World 2.0'. Watch Bieber receive the diamond award from Scooter Braun below:
