Justin Bieber fans raise almost $500k in one day for Philippines relief fund

Justin Bieber's fans have raised a massive $430,000 for the Philippines typhoon relief fund in just one day.

The country was recently ravaged by Typhoon Haiyan, which claimed over 5,500 lives and left many homeless.

The Canadian singer announced on Thursday (December 5) an online donation system that gives fans the chance to win a chance to visit Bieber in his studio.

All they need to do is donate money to the typhoon relief fund - and it seems Beliebers have been doing so in their droves.

At the time of writing, $429,463 has been raised with nine days left of the campaign to run. Its target is $1m.

Bieber today (December 6) tweeted: "Just heard how much we have raised already!! U are all amazing. Keep helping to #GiveBackPhilippines."

UNICEF, Action Against Hunger and Philam Foundation will all benefit from the donations. Watch Justin Bieber announce his fundraising campaign below:
