Justin Bieber sings for Philippines typhoon survivors in surprise visit

Justin Bieber has embarked on a morale-boosting trip to visit survivors of the Philippines typhoon.

The country was recently ravaged by Typhoon Haiyan, with over 5,500 lives lost and countless more left homeless as a result.

The singer, who launched an online fundraising drive recently for the typhoon relief fund, touched down in the country's disaster zone on Tuesday (December 10) to sing for the locals.

A UNICEF spokeswoman said that the Canadian performed Christmas carols at a school. She said:

"He sang Holy Night for the children."

Pictures which have emerged from Bieber's visit sees the singer performing on a makeshift stage in front of adoring fans. He can also be seen playing basketball.

The 'Believe' man meanwhile is playing the final date of his world tour in the country.

His Philippines donation drive has seen his fans raise a massive $620,000 in just a matter of days. Those donating are automatically entered into a prize draw to win a studio hang-out with Bieber himself.
