Justin Timberlake: 'I was taught to always give more than just 100%'

'Suit & Tie' superstar Justin Timberlake has revealed that his parents once told him that if he gives more than the standard 100%, it's more likely he will achieve a higher return.

Speaking to Oprah Winfrey as part of her Oprah's Master Class series, the singer and actor explained that he was taught from a young age to put all of his energy into anything he undertakes, and it's something he has carried with him throughout his life:

"That was something I remember my parents telling me. The idea that if you put in more than 100 percent, if you put in 115 percent, then there's a good chance that you're going to end up getting back somewhere in the 90's. That made sense to me."

Timberlake added that there's nothing better than committing yourself to your passions: "And the idea that something worth having was worth putting all of yourself into it. Practice, rehearsal, working on it when no one's looking. Getting comfortable in it. So that when you step on that stage, you're ready. And then you can literally forget all of that and just be in the moment. And do something different. Do something original, do something different every time."
