Justin Timberlake took excitedly to Twitter last night after the driver he sponsored in the famous Indianapolis 500 race managed to snatch first place.

Timberlake’s clothing company William Rast was the main sponsor for driver Dan Wheldon at the 100th anniversary of the Indy 500 and to Timberlake's delight, the racer managed a win on Sunday after opponent JR Hildebrand crashed into a wall on the last lap – luckily the driver walked away  unhurt.

Timberlake tweeted excitedly after the race: "What a Memorial Day weekend! The William Rast car just won the Indy 500!!!!

"Congrats to Dan Wheldon, the WR racing team and everyone else who put in the hard work for this victory! Unreal!"
