Justin Timberlake is proud of New York's "balls" at legalising gay marriage

Singer and actor Justin Timberlake has expressed his happiness at the state of New York for recently legalising gay marriage.

The 'SexyBack' star applauded New York's "balls" to stand up for equality and explained to The Advocate that he was "stoked" to hear the long-awaited news:

"I was stoked. I mean, I was stoked that that happened. I think it's just ... we're people and we're different, all of us. And we should be using our differences to bring ourselves closer together. You know? Not be afraid of something that we don't know."

Speaking about his personal beliefs, Timberlake used the example of a couple he knows who also happen to be two of his dearest friends and added that it's simply a "great victory":

"Two of my best friends are a couple, and my conversation with them is, like, it's unfortunate that things take a while to progress like this, but it was a great, great victory for equality. I’m proud that New York has balls to stand up for what’s right."

His new movie, 'Friends With Benefits', is out now and you can watch the film's trailer below:
