Justin Timberlake apologises for ‘silly, unsavoury’ wedding video

Justin Timberlake has apologised for a ‘silly, unsavoury’ video of congratulatory wishes that was produced by his friends for his wedding to Jessica Biel.

A 19-second clip titled ‘Greetings from your Hollywood friends who couldn’t make it,’ which shows homeless people and transvestites in Los Angeles giving the couple shout-outs, was leaked online earlier this week.

The video, which was created by the former N*Sync star’s estate agent pal Justin Hutchel, has angered some fans who believe it mocks minority groups.

But Timberlake yesterday posted an open letter on his own official website to say sorry for any offence caused:

"I'd like to start off by saying that I don't live my life making fun of people... Especially, those who are less fortunate or those in need. As it pertains to this silly, unsavoury video that was made as a joke and not in any way in mockery: I had no knowledge of its existence. I had absolutely ZERO contribution to it.

"My friends are good people. This was clearly a lapse in judgement which I'm sure no-one who is reading this is exempt from. But, I don't believe it was made to be insensitive. More so, I think it was made as a joke on me not having that many friends attending my own wedding (which IS kind of funny if you think about it).

"I want to say that, on behalf of my friends, family, and associative knuckleheads, I am deeply sorry to anyone who was offended by the video.”
