Justin Timberlake wants country career

Justin Timberlake has reaffirmed his desire to try making country music.

The singer is more closely associated with genres such as pop and R&B, but it seems country is on the US star's radar.

He told radio show Highway Hot 30 Live that his dream of becoming a country star is "still alive".

Timberlake added: "I just did an interview earlier today and I said 'I'm America, that's what I am - in all sense of the word'. I grew up outside of Memphis, Tennessee, and I listened to country music, R&B music, classic rock...everything."

Whilst the singer is up for pop, soul and R&B awards at this year's AMAs, it seems he is plotting future success in the different genre. He said:

"I still got my eyes on a 'Best Country Album'. There's time for that."

Timberlake meanwhile recently announced a third London date for his 20/20 Experience World Tour.

The show will take place in June as the singer promotes his latest effort 'The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2'.
