Kaiser Chiefs singer Ricky Wilson has dismissed speculation that he underwent a makeover before going on The Voice.

The indie-rocker signed up last year to become a coach on the 2014 series of the UK TV talent show.

However, after seeing promotional photos and clips from the show, some people suggested that Wilson had his teeth done and went on a diet before filming the programme.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Wilson said that the rumours aren't true:

“Everyone’s saying ‘You lost all that weight and had your teeth done for TV’, but I only got the job on The Voice two weeks before we started filming. If I’d done all that in a fortnight, people would want the number of my clinic!"

The singer meanwhile also suggested that the lack of success from previous Voice winners is down to lack of hard work. He said:

"They didn’t see it through. That sounds harsh, but it’s not like you go straight to number one when you get a record deal. That’s where the hard work starts."
