Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson 'frustrated' by band's hiatus

Kaiser Chiefs' frontman, Ricky Wilson, has revealed that he grew increasingly frustrated by the band's 2 year hiatus and became desperate to get back on stage.

Likening his indescribable love of performing to "trying to explain to someone why you're addicted to heroin", the star admitted that playing live invigorates him and it's something he simply needs to survive:

"I've never enjoyed playing as much as I have this summer. That's partly to do with taking a little bit of time off and getting to a point where it was actually getting frustrating that we weren't playing."

"I have to answer questions all the time about what it's like being on stage. And I have no idea, it's just what I have to do. It's like trying to explain to someone why you're addicted to heroin. You can't say, 'Because it's really tasty'. It's just something you can't figure out."

The group released their latest record, 'The Future Is Medieval', earlier this summer and have since rocked festivals around the UK. Watch their interview from the Isle of Wight festival here:
