Kanye sympathises with Bush

Kanye West has responded to the comments former President George W. Bush has made about West’s televised attack on him being the worst moment of his presidency.

In a phone call to a Houston radio station West claimed to sympathise with Bush, after he himself was accused of racism, following the Taylor Swift scandal at the VMA’s last year.

“Well I definitely understand the way he feels – to be accused of being a racist in any way. Because the same thing happened to me, you know,” said West. “And with both situations it was basically a lack of compassion that America saw in that situation … I think we’re all too quick to pull the race card in America.”

West originally accused the President of racism in 2005 in response to his reaction to the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe, saying that: “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.”

However in an interview with Matt Lauer, due to air next week, Bush said that at the time he told his wife, Laura, that it was the worst moment of his presidency and he still stood by those words.

The President said: “He called me a racist. And I didn’t appreciate it then. I don’t appreciate it now. It’s one thing to say, ‘I don’t appreciate the way he’s handled business’, it’s another thing to say, ‘This man is a racist’ I resent it, it’s not true.”

President George W. Bush will be releasing his autobiography ‘Decision Points’ on November 10, 2010.
