Kasabian's Tom Meighan: 'Hitting my dad with a car was the worst day of my life'

Kasabian rocker Tom Meighan has opened up about the time where he ran over his father with an automatic car.

Speaking to MTV News about the ordeal, which luckily wasn't serious, Meighan explained that it was really upsetting and stressful: "It was a freak accident, it was horrible. That was the worst day of my life."

He went onto add that the car he had the accident in was automatic, so running over his father was a horrid and unexpected shock because he had hit the accelerator instead of the hand brake without realising:

"I can drive but it was in an automatic car. It was too fast. It was a real shock at the time. It would only happen to me. We have laughed about it now and that’s all you can do. I’m very close to my dad. He’s a very amazing person to have around, so that happening was awful.”

Kasabian, meanwhile, recently announced details of a full headlining UK and Ireland tour that is due to kick off on Wednesday, November 19 at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow and the jaunt will run until Friday, December 12
