Kasabian happy at Brits snub: 'We don't want to be put in the same category as One Direction'

Kasabian have admitted that they are relieved not to be in the same category as One Direction at the Brit Awards.

The rock group are not nominated for any gongs at the upcoming awards ceremony.

Speaking to The Sun, guitarist Serge Pizzorno said that he'd rather be left out of the awards than be nominated in the same category as the likes of One Direction.

He said: "I don't want us to be put in the same Best British Group category as Clean Bandit and One Direction.

"There's way more politics behind this than people realise. There's some strange names in there. I hope some of those people enjoy their night because it's the only time they'll be there."

One Direction and Clean Bandit will face off against Alt-J, Coldplay and Royal Blood in the Group category.

This year's Brit Awards are taking place at London's O2 Arena on February 25.
