Kate Nash organises London riots clean up and charitable donations

Following the recent London riots and looting, singer-songwriter Kate Nash has single-handedly pioneered a collection for people whose homes and belongings were destroyed.

The 'Foundations' star has taken a very hands-on approach to the terrible events and has been "collecting donations for tottenham homeless" in her own time. Filling vans with toiletries and clothing, Nash has taken them to people in need all over London and has managed to rope her fans in to help both donate and deliver. 

She has championed the charitable clean-up act through social networking site Twitter, where she has over 50,000 followers, and asked people to help provide "clothes/bedding/kitchenware/books/toys/music anything you can think of! These people have lost everything in their homes!"
