Katy Perry uses childhood image for new single artwork

Katy Perry has turned back the clock on her new single artwork.

The singer is due to unleash the song 'Birthday' as the next cut from her 2013 record 'Prism'.

She revealed its accompanying artwork on Twitter on Thursday (April 3) and it sees Perry use a photo of herself from her childhood.

The global superstar can be seen wearing a bow tie as she sits with her sister in front of a super-imposed birthday cake.

The tune follows on from previous singles 'Dark Horse', 'Unconditionally' and 'Roar'.

Perry meanwhile is set to hit the road on her Prismatic tour from May 7.

Her first date is taking place in Belfast and the singer will then go on to perform in Europe, North America and Australia.
