Katy Perry orders crate of Scottish lager after drinking it in Glasgow

Katy Perry has apparently ordered a crate of Tennent's lager after drinking it on stage in Glasgow.

The singer was spotted chugging on a pint of the Scottish drink during her show at Glasgow's Hydro arena earlier this month.

She was apparently seen swigging the lager again at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in the city and a spokesman for the alcohol company told the Daily Record that she has ordered some cans to drink in the US.

They said: "We got a really odd call this week after Katy Perry had spent time in Scotland. It was a phone call from an American woman asking us to send 10 cases of Tennent’s to an address in Hollywood. She said she was a big fan of Tennent’s and wanted to buy it so it wasn’t even as if she wanted a freebie.”

The rep added: "The address they gave us turned out to be the building for Capitol Records and the name they gave us was Liz Hudson, which we discovered is Katy’s real name. The request was cloak-and-dagger but we’re 99.9 per cent sure it is Katy Perry. The gig was great and it’s brilliant she enjoyed her taste of Scotland in more ways than one.”

The Tennent's brewery is based in the east end of Glasgow and is one of Scotland's most popular drinks.
