Katy Perry celebrated turning 30 yesterday (October 25). 

The 'Teenage Dream' singer was apparently inundated with well-wishers on the day as she took to Twitter in the evening to state that she was: "Overwhelmed with love today..." 

Perry received a public birthday message from Madonna. The 'Like A Virgin' star posted an image from the V magazine photo shoot the pair posed for together earlier this year, along with the caption: "Happy Birthday Lady Scorpio!"  

Katy started her celebrations early this week by getting her wish of having a message dedicated to her on the sign of a pizza parlour on Santa Monica Boulevard.  

Various press reports throughout the week have spoken about Perry's plans to sail down the Nile River to mark her 30th birthday. However, the Egyptian cruise failed to go ahead after reported safety concerns.
