Katy Perry's manager denies '1984' song reports

Earlier this week, it was reported that Katy Perry had registered a song called '1984' and it was said to be a rebuttal to Taylor Swift's 'Bad Blood' as well as a response to Swift's recent album title, '1989'.

A representative for the 'Teenage Dream' sensation at Universal told Billboard that there's absolutely no truth in any of the stories concerning the rumoured song: "Katy Perry’s managers at Direct Management Group confirm that this story is completely false. Katy Perry was not involved in writing, singing, recording or registering this song."

Billboard went onto confirm that the '1984' song was registered back in September 2014 by BMG Platinum Songs and it's still on BMI's site with Katy Perry listed under the 'Artists' tag.

Perry, meanwhile, has just reached an impressive career milestone as her 'Dark Horse' music video broke the one billion views barrier. She took to her official Twitter page this afternoon and thanked fans for getting the video to such an amazing number:

"Guys. Wut. Dark Horse has reached 1 BILLION views?! I seriously [love] ur [eye] balls & ur fingers for dem clicks...*heads back to the trap house*."
