Katy Perry hasn't started her new album yet: 'She's taking a break for a second'

Bonnie McKee has revealed that pop sensation Katy Perry hasn't yet begun work on her next studio album.

Speaking to Idolator, the songwriter explained that the 'Teenage Dream' beauty is taking a well-deserved break for a little while, but admitted that she loves to work so it won't be long before she's back in the recording studio:

"I don't think she has started yet. She just finished a tour and I think she's taking a break for a second. She needs a break. I know she never stays out of the studio for long though, so I'm sure it won't be long."

Perry, meanwhile, recently landed at third place on a list of the world's highest paid stars. The singer is estimated by Forbes to have raked in $135 million (£85.8 million) between June last year and June 2015. She gave a fantastic speech to fans as the information was shared and told them to embrace being 'a boss' if they have the opportunity to get there:

"Ladies, there is a difference between being humble and working hard to see the fruits of your labor blossom, and your dreams realised. Hopefully this cover can be an inspiration to women out there that it's okay to be proud of hard earned success and that there is no shame in being a boss."
