Katy Perry on finding inspiration

Katy Perry is set to return on November 15 with her new single 'Firework'.

The popstar has revealed that she came up with the idea for the song, taken from LP, 'Teenage Dream', after fiancé Russell Brand told her about his favourite book, 'On the Road', by Jack Kerouac.

“I was introduced to [Jack Kerouac] by my boyfriend who is a big fan,” she said. “In the book he was talking about how he wanted to be around people who were buzzing, fizzing ... like fireworks across the sky. I guess that’s my whole vibe [of the song]. I want to be a living firework.”
