Katy Perry teams up with Twitter

Katy Perry has teamed up with Twitter to debut a new “Tweet-to-Screen” initiative on her California Dreams 2011 Tour.

For every show, the ‘E.T.’ singer will create a dedicated hashtag. If fans tag their tweets with the hashtag, their messages, thoughts and pictures will be displayed on two screens at either side of the stage, and on Perry’s website.

Katy wanted to make the California Dreams Tour as interactive as possible, for both the concert-going fans as well as the fans following online," explains Ngoc Huang of Direct Management Group.

“This is the beginning of offline, online, fan and audience integration that creates a more engaging experience at the show,” says Sam Decker of Mass Relevance, the company behind the idea.
