Katy Perry signed her divorce papers this week and made the separation from comedian Russell Brand official by adding a smiley face to the end of her signature. 

On February 8 the 'California Gurls' superstar, named on the document as Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, confirmed her divorce and unexpectedly rounded off the formality with a lighthearted gesture.

The Los Angeles court that dealt with the filing explained a "comprehensive written settlement of all issues" had been reached.

Billboard.com reports that the 6-month waiting period imposed by the state of California means that the couple's divorce won't be finalised until June 30.

It was also announced yesterday, February 9, that Perry is set to re-release her record-breaking 'Teenage Dream' album under the new name 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection' and the repackaged version will include several new songs.
