Katy Perry on course for UK No.1 single

Katy Perry looks set to land at No.1 in the UK singles chart this weekend with her new effort 'Part Of Me'.

The track hit top spot today (March 21) in the midweek update, displacing Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used To Know', which dropped to No.4.

Indeed, the whole top three is now comprised of new entries, with Sean Paul's 'She Doesn't Mind' at No.2 and Labrinth's 'Last Time' at No.3.

JLS's Sport Relief single 'Proud' managed to chart at No.5 whilst Alexandra Burke's 'Elephant' made a drop that it will never forget as it plummeted eight places to No.11.

As previously reported, Katy Perry is set to unveil the video for 'Part Of Me' later today (March 21), with the clip sporting an army theme.
