Katy Perry reveals Madonna inspired concert movie

Katy Perry has revealed how Madonna was the main source of inspiration for her upcoming 3D concert movie, 'Part Of Me.'

The ‘California Gurls’ star, who released the full theatrical trailer for her big-screen adventure earlier this week, told Teen Vogue magazine that Madonna’s film, ‘Truth Or Dare,’ which chronicled the Queen of Pop’s ‘Blond Ambition’ tour back in 1991, gave her the impetus to produce a similar documentary of her own.

She said: "Madonna is everything to me, and that movie is amazing, because it caught her at a time when she was a bit more vulnerable. I wanted to do that too, to capture a snapshot of who I am now so that I can remind myself what I've lost if I ever do become totally jaded."

The 27-year-old, who recently scored her third UK number one with ‘Part Of Me,’ also revealed that she nearly got the chance to star in a recent Oscar-nominated film:

"There was a time when I was going to be involved in The Help. Just a small part, I wasn't going to be Emma Stone or anything, but I couldn't because the shooting schedule conflicted with the release of my record.

"I was upset about that. I knew it was going to be an important film. Not that I need to do drama first, but I do want to do something that makes a strong impression."
