Katy Perry gets patriotic for Fleet Week

Pop songstress Katy Perry embraced the spirit of Fleet Week and wore an American flag dress to a special performance in New York yesterday (May 23).

The 'Part Of Me' hitmaker took the stage at the Brooklyn Waterfront last night in a stunning 'stars and stripes' cropped dress and performed for the crews of military ships, which dock in a variety of major cities for seven days to allow the sailors to see the sights.

She tweeted before the concert: "Sea men dock their vessels in the great city of NYC to experience the land from whence they came. I'm about to give them a show! #fleetweek"

Earlier this week, Perry also opened up about her forthcoming 3D concert film and explained to Access Hollywood that the footage is very "revealing":

"It's from exactly my point of view, because a lot of people have a lot of different ideas about me. This is a film I made for myself, for my fans really, so they can get the all-access pass. I've never been this revealing. I'm excited about it."
