Katy Perry reveals she finds outdated talent show judges ‘completely hilarious’

Katy Perry has revealed that she finds it 'completely hilarious' when talent shows hire judges whose best days in the music industry are behind them.

The 27-year-old, who previously claimed she turned down a position on the UK X-Factor panel that was later given to Kelly Rowland, told The Hollywood Reporter that she’s not against the idea of such shows but that she questions the appointment of some of the judges:

“I think some of those shows are better than others. I like to give constructive criticism that hopefully people can apply and find valuable.

“But I do find it completely hilarious when they hire people that are not current in music and haven't been for a decade or over. Or when they're not even in music. How are you going to give a perspective when you haven't even lived it?"

The ‘Teenage Dream’ star, who did join the UK X-Factor as a guest judge back in 2010, said she has no plans to take on a similar role full-time just yet:

"People have reached out to me about the possibility of being involved and I think that it's not right for me now. I have ideas for two or three big, creative things and I want to be able to fulfill those ideas. And it's a real commitment to be on one of those shows."
