The brother of pop sensation Katy Perry has revealed that he wants her to end up with someone who treats her like a princess.

Perry's on/off relationship with musician John Mayer has caught the attention of the press recently, but her brother David Hudson hopes that she will find true love with someone who understands what she needs.

He told Life & Style: "She deserves a true gentleman, and I don’t think she’s found that."

Referring to the kind of guy the 'Teenage Dream' beauty should be pursuing, Hudson added: "Katy needs a man who's changing the world like she is - although not necessarily in the business, just someone that's really got something impressive."

Hudson also joked that he's tried to give his sister romantic advice before, but she chooses not to take it: "She shrugs it off because she's her own person. She's very independent."
