Emotional video of Katy Perry performing with autistic girl posted online

An emotional video of Katy Perry performing a duet with an autistic child has been posted online.

The pop songstress took time out earlier this month to take part in the 'Night Of Too Many Stars' charity event in New York, which aims to raise money for autism research and support.

Perry was billed as playing her inspirational track 'Firework' at the event but she ended up performing the song with young piano player Jodi DiPiazza, who has used music to deal with her autism.

The performance struck a chord with the audience, with many onlookers appearing to be close to tears.

DiPiazza is seen at the end of the performance with both arms around Perry's waist as the audience gives a standing ovation.

Perry tweeted after the performance: "I will never forget last night. It was the most important moment thus far of what I do."
