Katy Perry wants to appear in comedy films

Katy Perry has revealed her desire to try out comedy acting.

The singer is already experienced in being in front of the camera after starring in autobiographical flick 'Part of Me', which was released in 2012.

However, Perry - who has lent her voice to new movie Smurfs 2 - told the Metro that she wants to try out acting in a more fictional setting.

She has comedy in her sights - or even a role in Blade Runner 2. The 'Teenage Dream' star said:

"With films, I hope to win you all over with animation and then do other films. I am really interested in comedy, and I would really love to play Rachael in Blade Runner 2 if Ridley [Scott] would just call! I think I’d enjoy playing the opposite of what you expect."

Perry meanwhile has revealed the title and release date of her new album in a clever marketing campaign that involves a golden truck.

She will release the record 'Prism' on October 22.
