Katy Perry's 'Roar' stays at the top of UK singles chart for second week

Katy Perry is enjoying her second consecutive week at No. 1 in the UK singles chart as her track ‘Roar’ remains unbothered at the top spot.

‘Roar’ raced to No. 1 last week and gave Perry her fastest-selling single to date as more than 179,500 copies were snapped up in first week sales. This week, a further 103,000 units have been sold.

The rest of this week’s top five is made up by OneRepublic with ‘Counting Stars’ at No.2 - having climbed 11 places in the past seven days – Ellie Goulding’s ‘Burn’ is down one place at No. 3, Avicii’s former chart-topper ‘Wake Me Up’ is at No. 4 and Drake’s ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’ featuring Majid Jordan is up one spot to No. 5.

New entries to this week’s chart come from Coldplay at No. 12 with their track ‘Atlas’ which is taken from the soundtrack of the forthcoming second installment of ‘The Hunger Games’. Example’s ‘All The Wrong Places’ is new in at No. 13, whilst Manchester DJ Ben Pearce makes his Top 40 debut with ‘What I Might Do’ at No. 25, and Lethal Bizzle’s ‘Party Right’ sits at No.29.
